Good afternoon! It's been a while since our last post, but long gone are the days of dressing up the baby and propping him somewhere while I photograph and blog about it! We're constantly on the run these days, chasing Logan, chasing the cats, catching crashing lamps, you get the picture.
Speaking of pictures, I have some to share. They are posted on the Kodak Gallery and you can view them by clicking here.
We had a great visit. Flew into Raleigh/Durham airport in North Carolina and picked up our rental car, a sweet Ford Escape SUV in a great blue color. It hurt giving that back to Avis, I'll tell ya. Drove from there to Greensboro, where my Grandma Lois lives, and spent two nights with her. We indulged in some famous Stamey's BBQ, enjoyed tromping around her great big back yard in the beautiful NC spring weather, and took in the Science and Nature Center. Logan is still knocking on every window and door, Grandma! Your attempts to get that great big turtle to move made an impact on him!
After Greensboro, we drove to Sanford to pick up my Granny and kept on heading south to Ladson, SC where my folks live. Logan got to play with Chase, his future step-cousin, and they had a blast. He studies these bigger boys like it's his job! "Bigger" is a relative term though, because with Chase's 4th birthday approaching he does have a couple of inches on Logan, but Logan outweighs him by a few pounds! We also got to hit the beach one day, and toured historic Summerville. We were blessed with a visit from Auntie Sam and Uncle Jeff. The guys went out golfing, so the ladies chit-chatted and went shopping. We also got to meet cousin Riley. She's a little spit-fire! We got to celebrate her first birthday with her, thus the really cute ladybug cake you see in the pictures.
As our vacation days dwindled, we took Granny back to Sanford, spent the night, and flew home. We missed their terrible weather by days, and were very glad to hear that Granny weathered the tornadoes with no damage to herself or home. Upon our return, Logan and I skipped up to Milwaukee for an overnight to throw Auntie Erin a baby shower (click here for pics). That was more work for her than I had hoped, considering she was the master chef and we were the assistants. But there was no talking her out of the kitchen, that's for sure! It all came off without a hitch and was a beautiful fun celebration of our future neice (and cousin) whom we expect in June!
Blessings to all. I imagine we'll have some Easter and Mother's Day pictures soon. I'll try to post them for all to enjoy!
